Tim Cook said it was a “historic day for the Mac”.
” We expect to deliver our very first Mac with Apple silicon by the end of the year,” stated primary executive Tim Cook, including that it would likely be two years before its complete product line had actually made the jump.
The company stated the move would permit it to offer new functions and enhanced performance as well as making it easier for designers to “compose and optimise software for the entire Apple ecosystem”.
” Apple’s motivations for doing this include reducing its dependence on Intel, cutting the expense and increasing the performance of its silicon, and offering itself more flexibility and agility when it comes to future items,” commented Geoff Blaber from the consultancy CCS Insight.
