The Federal government requires to raise this cash by selling bonds (Commonwealth Federal government Securities) to regional banks and to international buyers, since taxpayer earnings won’t foot the bill.
When the Government, via the Australian Workplace of Finance Management (AOFM), put these bonds up for sale on Wednesday morning, international investors were falling over themselves to get their hands on them.
