Bengaluru Singer-Songwriter Saroj Kashyap Releases Stirring, Flute-Aided New Song ‘Nargis’

The artist’s 2nd solo single includes an unexpected component of Indian classical, with flautist Arjun MPN and produced by guitar player Ritwik Bhattacharya Anurag Tagat Jul 15, 2023 Bengaluru singer-songwriter Saroj Kashyap. Bengaluru artist Saroj Kashyap conjures up poetic love and nature in her own metaphorical method with her newest tune “Nargis,” which features a cheerful yet mournful video shot in the city’s verdant Cubbon Park. Kashyap’s 2nd solo single since she started composing music in 2020 and had a couple of cooperations out prior, “Nargis” follows her March release “Dancing With The Demons.” Unlike the primarily simple singer-songwriter technique to the latter tune, Kashyap– together with producer-guitarist Ritwik Bhattacharya and flautist Arjun MPN (both from combination band Pineapple Express)– enter brand-new area with a tune that stabilizes Indian and acoustic folk plans. Kashyap states she was initially hesitant about including flute, an idea that originated from Bhattacharya towards completion of the production procedure of “Nargis.” She includes, “But understanding Ritwik, I trusted his impulses and [I’m] Thankful I did. The track was sent out to Arjun and within no time at all we got it back. After listening to that variation, we simply could not envision the track without the flute.
