Best women’s supplements for iron and fertility: How mum built a $5 million brand

Aussie mum-of-three Melanie Nolan, from Melbourne, has successfully transformed her passion for women’s health into a multi-million-dollar business.

Naternal Vitamins has already generated over $5 million dollars in revenue within its first three years.

Melanie’s journey started when she initially enrolled in a science and law dual degree before realising her true passion was in the transformative power of naturopathy.

She then decided to change courses and pursue a bachelor of naturopathy instead, while also raising her three children under the age of three as a single mum.

Once Melanie became a naturopath, she saw first-hand the struggles women were experiencing and how even when taking their chemist-bought vitamins, they would still feel exhausted, depleted and stressed.

“The vitamin industry in Australia is full of rubbish ingredients and cheap formulations. We deserve better,” Melanie says.

In order to start Naternal Vitamins, Melanie made an enormous sacrifice and sold her house to invest in the development of her vitamin range.

The mum-of-three’s sacrifice paid off and Naternal Vitamins is now making $300,000 monthly revenue and seeing a growth rate of 20 per cent every month.

Melanie also only works part-time hours from 10am to 3pm, which aligns with her children’s school schedule, making her work/life balance easier.

Naternal Vitamins has managed to build a loyal community and continues to place a strong focus on education and empowerment while specialising in a premium range of vitamins.

The entrepreneur’s expertise as a qualified naturopath ensures that each product is formulated with the highest quality ingredients, meeting stringent Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) regulations in Australia.

Plus, Naternal Vitamins offers a more affordable choice compared to many other vitamins on the market, with its iron supplements starting from $35.

One of its most popular products is the prenatal vitamin EverNatal ($56), with just two capsules a day containing myriad supplements to help pregnancy and breastfeeding.

“They’re really good. I don’t feel nauseous after eating them. I’ve been just taking it for a month. Hopefully it will do wonders if I keep taking them,” one woman wrote on the website.

“Excellent and it’s easy on the stomach,” said another.

Shoppers are loving Naternal Vitamins, and the brand has more than 723 five-star reviews on its website.
