Confirmation Blackwater man, Nathan Turner, did not die of coronavirus has ignited an angry backlash among residents of the tight-knit central Queensland community.

Opposition Leader Deb Frecklington has joined many Blackwater residents in calling for Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk to apologise to Mr Turner’s family and the Blackwater community.
“The town of Blackwater and the surrounding communities have been in absolute upheaval because of this,” Ms Frecklington said.
After a social media post yesterday afternoon revealed his fiancee, Simone Devon, had been told that a post-mortem examination confirmed Mr Turner, 30 did not have COVID-19, Facebook was flooded with irate comments.
