LONDON (AP)– The British government faced accusations of hypocrisy on Saturday after the discovery that Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s top adviser, Dominic Cummings, traveled more than 250 miles to his moms and dads’ home throughout an across the country coronavirus lockdown.
The Guardian and Mirror newspapers reported that Cummings, who lives in London, was seen at the residential or commercial property in Durham, northeast England, at the end of March. A lockdown that began March 23 stated that people should remain at their primary residence, leaving only for important regional errands and workout, and not go to loved ones. Anybody with signs was told to entirely isolate themselves.
Durham Cops said that officers went to a house on March 31 and “described to the family the standards around self-isolation and repeated the appropriate guidance around important travel.” Authorities did not discuss Cummings by name.
