California reported a record number of new coronavirus cases Wednesday, eclipsing 4,000 brand-new cases in a single day for the very first time, according to county information assembled by The Chronicle.
County health departments reported 4,233 new cases since Wednesday night with nearly all counties reporting. The state’s previous single-day high was 3,683 cases last Friday.
