Colorado’s COVID-19 break outs increase for very first time since early June

The number of active COVID-19 break outs in Colorado increased this week for the first time because June, but development in cases and deaths related to those clusters remained relatively modest.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment reported 178 active coronavirus break outs in between July 8 and Wednesday, up from 169 the week before. The state specifies a break out as at least two cases linked to a typical place or occasion.

This comes as Colorado has seen 4 successive weeks of increasing COVID-19 infections, as well as a current increase in hospitalizations for the breathing illness.

Overall cases connected to the state’s break outs passed the 10,000 mark in the most recent report, increasing 3.7%. That’s the greatest rate of increase in three weeks, but well below May, when cases were increasing by a minimum of 20%most weeks.

The biggest brand-new outbreak was at the Buena Vista Correctional Complex, where 35 detainees and four team member evaluated positive.
