Public Health England has released its report looking at why people from ethnic minority backgrounds are “disproportionately” passing away with coronavirus.
It shows age stays the most significant threat element. Being male is another.
But if you strip out age and sex, people of Bangladeshi ethnicity have twice the threat of death than people of white British ethnicity.
The danger is greater for other Asian, Caribbean and black ethnicities too.
However it stays uncertain why.
The analysis on ethnicity and danger did rule out an individual’s profession or weight problems, although both are known risk elements for getting seriously ill with coronavirus.
It acknowledges that more work is needed to comprehend and encourage people about the risk.
