COVID-19 LIVE: The national COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 98.59% (Representational)
New Delhi:
India recorded 9,520 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, taking the overall Coronavirus tally to 4,43,98,696.
According to the Union Health Ministry, India recorded 41 deaths in the last 24 hours due to Covid, bringing the total number of Covid-related fatalities to 5,27,597.
The active cases comprise 0.22 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 98.59 per cent, the ministry said.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 4.15 per cent and the weekly positivity rate at 3.59 per cent, the ministry said.

Odisha Logs 289 New Covid Cases In 24 Hours
Odisha’s COVID-19 tally rose to 13,26,672 today as 289 more people, including 54 children, tested positive for the infection, a health department bulletin said.
The COVID-19 death count rose to 9,171 as a 65-year-old woman succumbed to the disease in Kalahandi district. Fifty-three other patients have died due to comorbidities so far, it said.
Odisha had recorded 296 infections and two fatalities on Friday.
The state now has 1,989 active COVID-19 cases, while 286 more people recuperated in the last 24 hours, taking the total number recoveries to 13,15,459.
The daily positivity rate was at 1.58 per cent as 18,287 samples were tested for the infection in the last 24 hours.
Maharashtra’s Thane District Sees 355 New COVID-19 Cases In 24 Hours
Thane district in Maharashtra reported 355 fresh COVID-19 cases, taking the tally to 7,40,493, a health official said today.
These cases were reported on Friday.
Thane district, which is part of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, is now left with 2,362 active cases, he said.
With no fresh COVID-19 fatality, the death count remained unchanged at 11,939.
The number of recoveries in the district stood at 7,26,590 as of Friday, the official added.
