Local authorities say Humboldt County is sufficiently prepared to crack the door a bit larger in our “soft opening” of regional companies after nearly two months of shelter-in-place orders and intense security preventative measures set off by the COVID-19 pandemic.
At a special meeting this afternoon, the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors accepted a report compiled by regional health officials over the weekend.
The document– whose official name is “the Humboldt County Containment.

As Humboldt County Health Officer Dr. Teresa Frankovich explained throughout today’s conference, the county itself has to fulfill particular requirements in order to be granted this leeway.
When the report was settled on Wednesday, Humboldt County had seen an overall of 8 validated cases over the previous 14 days.
