Defence Force workers are set to be stationed in Perth quarantine hotels to help with security arrangements, after whistleblowers flagged issues about the handling of worldwide and interstate arrivals.

Premier Mark McGowan stated he requested the help previously today after discovering the Prime Minister had made defence resources available to assist with hotels in other states.
It follows the ABC revealed staff working in WA’s hotel quarantine system had grave issues about the handling of interstate and international arrivals, with duplicated guideline breaches and worries of an over-reliance on private security professionals within the state’s hotel quarantine system.
