A Massachusetts medical physician who punched a policeman throughout a mob’s attack on the U.S. Capitol was sentenced Thursday to 9 months of jail time followed by 9 months of home confinement.
Jacquelyn Starer, MD, remained in a crowd of rioters inside the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, when she struck the officer with a closed fist and screamed a profane insult.
Starer informed U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly that she isn’t happy with her actions that day, including her “regrettable encounter” with the officer.
“I accept complete duty for my actions that day, and I genuinely want factor had actually dominated my feelings,” she stated.
