Human impacts on the put on Earth with the most richness of life have brought numerous wild animals to the verge of extinction, a study reveals.

The similarity logging and poaching have pushed 500 mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians to the point where they’re hanging by a thread, research discovered.

This is yet more proof that the world’s going through a sixth mass termination, scientists argue.

Species are disappearing at more than 100 times the natural rate, they state.

And unlike other mass terminations, brought on by volcano eruptions or asteroid accidents, we only have ourselves to blame.

Prof Gerardo Ceballos of the National University of Mexico in Mexico City, stated regional ecosystems are facing collapse.

” We have actually gotten in the 6th mass termination,” he informed BBC News. “Based on our research and what we’re seeing, the termination crisis is so bad that whatever we perform in the next 10 to 50 years is what will define the future of mankind.”

Prof Ceballos dealt with the study with 2 other well-known conservation scientists, Stanford University’s Prof Paul Erhlich, and Dr Peter Raven of the Missouri Botanical Garden in St Louis, United States.
