By Srishti Ojha: The Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud on Saturday stated that the fundamental structure of our Constitution, like a north star that guides the judges in analyzing the Constitution. “The fundamental structure of our Constitution, like a North Star, guides and provides a particular instructions to the interpreters and implementers of the Constitution when the course ahead is complicated,” the CJI stated.
The declaration came a couple of days after Vice President Jaideep Dhankar criticised the Supreme Court’s landmark decision in the Kesavananda Bharti case on the standard structure teaching.
