There’s a brand-new screening buzzword in Australia and it may sound a little threatening– guard security or sentinel testing.
As our COVID-19 case rates slow, it belongs to the next action to remaining on top of infection rates in the neighborhood and, potentially, alleviating limitations.
So does it mean just evaluating in hot spots? Or targeting at-risk groups?

So what is sentinel screening?
If you had an aching throat or fever and went in to get checked, that’s passive surveillance (even though it seems like the opposite).
That’s when individuals potentially sick with COVID-19 go directly to health authorities.
But that misses out on individuals who aren’t as thorough at monitoring their health or are asymptomatic, which is not excellent for making certain infection rates remain under control.
