A highly prepared for report into the spread of COVID-19 in classrooms, relied on by the Federal Government to fast-track the resuming of schools, indicates the disease has really restricted transmissibility between trainees, and from students to teachers.
Bottom line:
- The report discovered 2 secondary infections in students, who are thought to have caught the infection at school
- NSW Education Minister Sarah Mitchell said the report will be released to schools to assist them plan for a staggered return
- According to the NSW Government, just 1.7 percent of COVID-19 infections have taken place among school aged children
Chief Medical Officer Brendan Murphy cited the report on Friday at a press conference with Prime Minister Scott Morrison, who worried that social-distancing steps did not need to be followed in schools
