VISAKHAPATNAM: Peda Bayulu police on Tuesday arrested space committee secretary of outlawed Maoist celebration, Vanathala Ramakrishna, a high chief, from the company space in Alluri Seetharamaraju district.
Following his arrest, 33 of his staunch supporters in the banned Maoist celebration, apart from 27 militia contributors, including eight females, surrendered sooner than DIG S. Harikrishna at Paderu.
Briefing media, Harikrishna stated an amount of ₹39 lakh in money, a five-kg mine packed in a metal carriage, five detonators, one nine mm pistol and nine rounds of ammunition had been seized from Ramakrishna.
The DIG stated the head Maoist is an accused in 124 cases registered in varied police stations spread over East Godavari and Alluri districts, apart from Odisha relate. The cases consist of 14 murders, six kidnap, 13 encounters, 13 mine blasts, four public property destruction and 83 other cases.
Ramakrishna is one among the necessary accused in the abolish of Araku MLA Kidari Sarveswara Rao, dilapidated MLA Siveri Soma and 7 civilian leaders of the company space.
Harikrishna stated the 60 surrendered celebration and militia contributors belong to Kundrum, Tagurupadu, Navabari and Jadiguda villages of Peda Bayulu mandal.
