Mark Hunt says there’s “no eminence” in winning a UFC belt, because the promotion doesn’t pay very well. Mark Hunt has consistently clashed with the UFC in the last few years, with their former heavyweight star even submitting lawsuits against his previous promoter. The 46- year-old once again slammed their organization practices, stating that the UFC title does not have any prestige because the fighters aren’t paid enough.
” There’s no status because title, in the UFC title. There’s no cash in that title. Which’s not simply me informing you, you can see from the evidence that everyone’s doing,” Hunt told Submission Radio.
” Why would you wish to be a UFC fighter? Why would you want to be the heavyweight champion of the UFC? Why would you want to be the champ of these things when they’re simply f– king paying them 16 percent? It’s trash. It’s honestly trash.
” When individuals state to me about the UFC product, I just sit there I wince and I laugh. I just go, wow, you’re the world champion of wishing to request more cash,” he said.

Hunt, who remarkably enough is competing in boxing next, compared Mixed Martial Arts bags to their fight sports counterparts.
” You look at the boxing side, when you make it there, you make it there. When you make it to Anthony Joshua status, Joseph Parker, Tyron Fury, you make it. One battle is one hundred million dollars, fifty million. I suggest, Conor made that cash when he transcended to boxing. So, what’s the point of being a UFC fighter?”.
” He might believe 5 million, 10 million dollars is a lot of cash. It is for what it is, however you’re speaking about someone who’s the elite in the world. He’s speaking about Anthony Joshua, he’s speaking about– Jon Jones complains about cash, and he’s making 5 million dollars. Well, obviously, he ought to be on that 100 million dollars a battle.”.
Hunt previously talked about fighter pay when Henry Cejudo decided to retire, saying that world champs should not need to ask for more cash.
The PRIDE and K-1 veteran left the UFC in 2018, after going 8-8-1 (1 NC) with the promotion. In those 7 years with the UFC, Hunt provided some iconic knockouts and received seven post-fight bonus offers for his amusing bouts.
