The Austin Butler-starring film arrives in theaters on Aug. 29
Idles debuted a new single, “Rabbit Run,” which was written for Darren Aronofsky’s upcoming film Caught Stealing .
The song is one of four original tracks the rock band contributed to the movie’s soundtrack and they also recorded the full film score composed by Rob Simonsen. The soundtrack, out Aug. 29 via Protozoa/Partisan Records, additionally features a cover of the Junior Marvin’s “Police and Thieves,” which was previously covered by The Clash on their 1977 self-titled debut LP.
“Rabbit Run” was inspired by the “gritty energy of the 1990s New York punk scene” that creates the backdrop of Caught Stealing. The film, in theaters Aug. 29, stars Austin Butler as a former baseball player and current bartender who finds himself caught up in a motley crew of threatening gangsters.
