‘If hell and Pakistan will be the option, I would like to go to hell, said Javed Akhtar

Famous lyricist and writer Javed Akhtar made a statement during an event in Mumbai on Saturday, which has sparked discussion in political and social circles. He said that if he gets only two options-Crupt or Pakistan, he would choose hell without hesitation.

He gave this comment in response to criticisms that he gets from the fundamentalists of both religious communities. He gave this statement during the release ceremony of Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Sanjay Raut’s book “Narkatla Swarg”. Big leaders like Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray were also present in the program.

Javed Akhtar said, “I get abuses from both sides. Someone tells me that I will go to hell, someone talks to me to send me jihadi to Pakistan. If you have to choose from these two, then I would like to go to hell.”

Javed Akhtar said, ‘If the op is talking from one side, then you will unhappy people on the same side, but if you are talking to both sides, then you will unhappy many people. If I meet, I will show my WhatsApp and Twitter, in which I get abuses from both sides. It is not that many people also praise, but the truth is that the fundamentalists here also abuse me and the fundamentalists also abuse me. This is true, if one of them stops abusing, then I will have trouble what I am messing with. One says that you are a Kafir, you will go into the world. Secondly, you say that you are jihadi and go to Pakistan… Now if I have a choice of Pakistan or Jahnum i.e. hell, then I will like to go to hell.

Javed Akhtar is known for his clear ideas and social-political issues to have an opinion. According to him, a person active in public life should be prepared not only for support but also for criticism.

Sanjay Raut’s book released

Javed Akhtar has been a nominated member of Rajya Sabha from March 2010 to March 2016. He was nominated in the Rajya Sabha by the then President Pratibha Patil. On this occasion, Sanjay Raut’s book “Narakatala heaven” is a collection of experiences and struggles of his political life, in which he has mentioned a period of jail, power and political pressures.
