In any correct, obedient democracy, a found guilty remains in prison till completion of their term. And somebody implicated of an abhorrent criminal offense deals with, at the minimum, social opprobrium, while the authorities performs its examination. A lawmaker implicated of some impropriety would need to address concerns from their constituents. In New India, these criminal offenses and misdemeanours are of no effect. The wrongdoers and the implicated are invited back into society with little embarassment or humiliation. They are hailed and commemorated. These are our brand-new heroes, our good example, who can get away with anything. The current case of Madal Virupakshappa, a BJP MLA in Karnataka, who was scheduled in a bribery case when the Lokayukta discovered Rs 8 crore in unaccounted money in his house, is a great example how things work now. The cash was discovered in a raid after his boy Prashanth Madal, a worker of a federal government body, was captured red-handed accepting a kickback of Rs 40 lakh. The daddy without delay disappeared as the authorities searched for him. A couple of days later on, after acquiring bail from the courts, he appeared, stating that he had actually been at his home the whole time. His fans then took him out in a triumphal procession through his town, the MLA cheerfully waving to them from an open automobile. And why should not he? As he stated rather brazenly, where he originated from, Rs 8 crore was barely a substantial quantity, so what was the hassle about? Last August, when the Gujarat federal government, in its knowledge, launched 11 males convicts while they were serving a life sentence, they were garlanded by the regional VHP system. These guys remained in prison for raping Bilkis Bano and eliminating 14 others in Gujarat in 2002. This weakens the sanctity of a court conviction, however
