The Indian Army stated on Tuesday that soldiers of Idian Army and Nepali Army took part in a 48-hour long gruelling training, followed by effective recognition of counter-terrorism drills on simulated settings, throughout the continuous joint workout in Nepal. The 16th edition of Indo-Nepal joint military workout ‘SURYA KIRAN’, which began on December 16, will continue till December 29 at Nepal Army Battle School, Saljhandi. “Nepal Army soldiers of Shree Bhawani Baksh Battalion and Indian Army soldiers from the 5 GR will be taking part in the workout. The 2 armies, through these contingents, will be sharing the experiences acquired throughout the conduct of numerous counter-insurgency operations throughout the years in their particular nations,” Defence Ministry stated in a Press declaration. “The joint workout would concentrate on development of combined drills for preparation and conduct of tactical operations at system level in counter terrorism operations and catastrophe reaction system in basic and function of militaries in management of catastrophe,” it included.
