An internet user has passed away after a shark attack in northern New South Wales.

Witnesses informed cops a 3-metre shark attacked a male shortly after 10.00 am, at Salt Beach, simply south of Kingscliff.
Numerous boardriders pertained to his help and fought off the shark.
The male was assisted to coast and got emergency treatment for serious injuries to his left leg but passed away at the scene.
He is believed to be a 60- year-old male from Queensland.
