Isro’s Aditya-L1 finishes 1st halo orbit|India News – The Times of India

BENGALURU: India’s very first solar objective Aditya-L1 spacecraft finished its very first halo orbit around the Sun-Earth L1 point on Tuesday, Isro stated. The area company stated its station-keeping manoeuvre on Tuesday guaranteed its smooth shift into the 2nd halo orbit. The Aditya-L1 objective, which is an Indian solar observatory at Lagrangian point L1, was introduced on Sept 2, 2023 and was placed in its targeted halo orbit on Jan 6, 2024. According to Isro, Aditya-L1 spacecraft in the halo orbit takes 178 days to finish a transformation around the L1 point. Throughout its travel in the halo orbit, Aditya-L1 spacecraft will undergo numerous perturbing forces that will trigger it to leave from the targeted orbit, the area company stated. “Aditya-L1 went through 2 station-keeping manoeuvres on Feb 22 and Jun 7, respectively, to preserve this orbit. Today’s 3rd station-keeping manoeuvre has actually made sure that its travel continued in the 2nd halo orbit course around L1,” ISRO said. The company described that Aditya L1’s journey around Sun-Earth L1 Lagrangian point includes modeling of complicated characteristics. The understanding of different perturbing forces acting upon the spacecraft assisted in figuring out the trajectory properly and preparing accurate orbit manoeuvres, it included. “With today’s manoeuvre, the advanced flight characteristics software application established internal at URSC-ISRO for the Aditya-L1 objectives stands completely verified,” ISRO stated.
