Jaguar’s ‘Hail Mary’ attempt to relaunch itself is set to officially begin in September 2026.

The hallowed British brand has confirmed the timeline for its all-new lineup, which will kick off with an all-new luxury electric sedan based on the two-door Type 00 concept unveiled in December 2024.

While details of the production model have yet to be announced, the company says the vehicle will produce a whopping 735kW of power and 1300Nm of torque from three electric motors.

Jaguar says its engineering team drove iconic models from the company’s past for inspiration, with the new model being influenced by the E-Type, XJS, and XJ series.

“Right from the start, our aim was to deliver a true Jaguar. To do that, we wanted to re‑examine the provenance of the brand and the best way to achieve this was to drive some of our greatest models from the past 90 years,” said Jaguar managing director Rawdon Glover.

Jaguar has previously said it was undertaking a “complete reset”, but faced widespread criticism following the release of a video showcasing its new brand direction.

In 2024, reports claimed Jaguar’s design boss Gerry McGovern had been fired – later confirmed as untrue – however, Mr McGovern recently announced he would be leaving the company to start his own design firm.
