Leaders mark Anzac Day at War Memorial as Australians pay respects from home

The national Anzac Day ceremony has actually been viewed by thousands this morning– broadcast from the Australian War Memorial in Canberra, as people stay at home in the middle of coronavirus constraints.

The National Commemorative dawn service was attended by a handful of leaders and veterans.

In his address, Prime Minister Scott Morrison acknowledged modifications to the service this year caused by COVID-19

However he said this was not the very first time Anzac Day customs had been interrupted and though quieter than normal, the service was no less meaningful.
