Maryland Now Testing 7 Patients for Coronavirus

Maryland health officials announced on Tuesday that seven patients are awaiting test results on whether they have the coronavirus that has sickened thousands worldwide.

No cases have been confirmed in Maryland, Virginia or Washington, D.C., as of Tuesday morning.

On Monday, just one person in the state was awaiting results to see if they were infected with the virus, also called COVID-19.

The Maryland Department of Health released updated figures on Tuesday saying that a total of seven people were waiting for results from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Maryland hasn’t released any information about where the possible patients live or work.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends these seven tips to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
