VEDHAN The Red Hills tank, a primary source of the city’s drinking water system, is gradually getting spots of green cover around it. In collective efforts, the Water Resources Department, in addition to voluntary organisations, is establishing Miyawaki metropolitan forests on land obtained from encroachers. The effort is being carried out at the rear side of the lake and near the consumption tower at Surapet, where almost 55 native types of saplings have actually been planted.
