Has there been a person who has changed your life through an act of kindness, and you felt you never thanked them properly?
More than 50 years ago, Sandra Goodwin (nee Abboud) was the victim of bullying at Rosehill Infant School in Sydney’s west.
Now she has been given the chance to meet the “knight in shining armour” who stood up for her, and say thank you.
“Somebody did touch my soul.”
‘Wayne’s on the line’
When ABC Evenings host Sarah Macdonald asked listeners to share stories of their childhood crushes, she had no inkling of where it would lead.
“Most people were ringing up with all their childhood pin-up boys and girls,” she told 7.30.
“Then Sandra rang up with this intensely beautiful story.”
Sandra relived the moment as if it only happened yesterday.
“I was playing in the playground and this girl came from nowhere and pushed me,” she told Sarah.
