Netflix has removed four of Australian actor Chris Lilley’s shows from its streaming service.
The move has been compared to Confederate statues being torn down by protesters, but Netflix has been tight-lipped about it.
Here’s what we know.
What happened?
We Can Be Heroes, Summer Heights High, Angry Boys and Jonah from Tonga are no longer available for viewing on Netflix Australia and New Zealand.
The streaming service didn’t announce the change, but it didn’t go unnoticed.

It’s unclear exactly what prompted the move, but others have linked it to the Black Lives Matter protests happening around the globe following the death of George Floyd.
The story, originally broken by culture website Deadline, has been picked up by news outlets around the globe, appearing alongside coverage of Gone With The Wind and Little Britain being removed from streaming services.
Is it permanent?
Netflix hasn’t said so, but didn’t offer any clarity when contacted by the ABC.
“Netflix will not be providing comment on this,” a spokesperson said.
But a report from Variety says the streaming giant has confirmed to them the shows will not be returning to the platform.
Two of Lilley’s other shows, Ja’mie: Private School Girl and Lunatics, remain on the platform.
