MUMBAI: Former MLA Rajan Teli, who joined the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena last week, has alleged that BJP minister Nitesh Rane is the mastermind of the loan scam at the Sindhudurg District Central Cooperative Bank. Hitting back, Rane said Teli was being investigated by the CBI for misusing the loan amount taken from the bank, so he did not take Teli’s allegations seriously. Rane’s brother, Nilesh, is a Shiv Sena MLA from Kudal in the Konkan. “I do not feel the need to take seriously the allegations of a person who is being investigated by the Centre’s CBI for misusing the loan amount taken from the bank. The bank and the police will answer the allegations against me.
So an accused who is under investigation making allegations against me doesn’t make sense. Let the investigation happen, and we will know the truth,” Rane said.
