NFL roundup: Cowboys roar back to stun Eagles as Sanders wins first Browns start

Philadelphia Eagles 21-24 Dallas Cowboys Brandon Aubrey kicked a 42-yard field goal as time expired after Dak Prescott rallied Dallas from a 21-point deficit and the Cowboys beat the Philadelphia Eagles in a mistake-filled thriller.

The Cowboys (5-5-1) converted on their third tiebreaking chance of the fourth quarter to extend Prescott’s home winning streak against NFC East opponents to 19. It was the Cowboys’ first game at AT&T Stadium since the death of defensive end Marshawn Kneeland.

The Eagles (8-3) are still in good shape to be the first repeat winners in the NFC East since they won four in a row from 2001-04, but the offense reverted to the form that has frustrated AJ Brown after the star receiver had a big hand in the 21-0 lead early in the second quarter. Philadelphia lost with a lead of at least 21 points for the first time since 1999, when Arizona beat the Eagles 25-24. It was the first win for Dallas when trailing by three touchdowns since the Cowboys beat the Rams 34-31 in 2014.

Indianapolis Colts 20-23 Kansas City Chiefs (OT) Patrick Mahomes threw for a season-high 352 yards, Kareem Hunt ran for 104 yards and a touchdown, and Harrison Butker’s fifth field goal of the game gave the Kansas City Chiefs a come-from-behind overtime victory over the Indianapolis Colts. Rashee Rice had eight catches for 141 yards, including two crucial ones on the Chiefs’ tying touchdown drive in regulation and another in overtime, after Kansas City (6-5) had forced the high-powered Colts (8-3) to punt on a fourth consecutive three-and-out. Butker ended the game with a 27-yard field goal with just under two minutes left in overtime, keeping the Chiefs’ playoff hopes alive.

New York Giants 27–34 Detroit Lions (OT) The Detroit Lions (7-4) avoided losing consecutive games for the first time in more than three years. Jahmyr Gibbs ran for a 69-yard touchdown on the first snap of overtime after Jake Bates matched a career high with a 59-yard field goal in the final minute of regulation, lifting the Lions to victory. New York (2-10) had a chance to extend the game, but turned the ball over on downs at the Detroit 31 when Aidan Hutchinson sacked Jameis Winston. The Lions entered the game out of the playoff picture and trailed by double digits multiple times. Gibbs had a career-high 264 yards from scrimmage and three scores.

Cleveland Browns 24–10 Las Vegas Raiders In his first career NFL start, highly publicized rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders did just enough to push the Cleveland Browns (3-8) to their first road win of the season with a victory over the Las Vegas Raiders (2-9). Sanders mostly stayed out of trouble in his debut, completing 11 of 20 for 209 yards with a touchdown and an interception. The 23-year-old threw his first career touchdown pass with 8:18 remaining in the fourth quarter, connecting with running back Dylan Sampson on a screen pass that Sampson promptly ran 66 yards into the end zone. The star of the show throughout Sunday’s game, however, was Cleveland’s defensive front. The Browns tallied 10 sacks, completely stifling a Raiders offense that has struggled to find a rhythm all season.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 7-34 Los Angeles Rams The Los Angeles Rams (9-2) remain the No 1 seed in the NFC after a comfortable win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday Night Football. MVP favorite Matthew Stafford had another superb game, throwing for 273 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions. The Bucs lost their third game in a row and their 6-5 record puts them in a tie with the Carolina Panthers at the top of the NFC South. There was a scare for Tampa Bay as Baker Mayfield sprained his shoulder in the first half and was replaced by Teddy Bridgewater. Mayfield will have an MRI on Monday.

Pittsburgh Steelers 28–31 Chicago Bears Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears didn’t have to face their old nemesis Aaron Rodgers, who missed the game with a broken wrist, to come away with a win. The longtime Packers QB has a 25-5 career record against the Bears. Williams threw for three touchdowns and the Bears beat the Steelers. Chicago won for the eighth time in nine games to improve to 8-3. After rallying in the final two minutes the previous three weeks, the Bears held onto a late lead this time. The Steelers fell to 6-5 and into a first-place tie with Baltimore in the AFC North.

New England Patriots 26–20 Cincinnati Bengals Drake Maye passed for 294 yards an the AFC-leading New England Patriots (10-2) extended their winning streak to nine, defeating the Cincinnati Bengals (8-3). Hunter Henry had a career-high 115 yards receiving. The Patriots rallied from a 10-0 deficit in the second quarter. Andy Borregales kicked a 52-yard field goal to give New England the lead with 1:51 remaining. Cincinnati’s Joe Flacco drives to the Patriots 26 but failed on a fourth-down pass. The Bengals have lost eight of nine since Joe Burrow’s injury. Burrow is expected to return on Thanksgiving against Baltimore.

Seattle Seahawks 30–24 Tennessee Titans Sam Darnold threw for 244 yards and two touchdowns and the Seattle Seahawks (8-3) beat the Tennessee Titans (1-10) for their fifth win in six games. Darnold bounced back with a clean game after being picked off four times last week. The Seahawks also held on to the first wildcard spot in the NFC playoff chase. Rookie Cam Ward tried to rally the Titans. He found Chimere Dike with a one-yard TD pass with 43 seconds left, giving the NFL’s worst-scoring team a season high in points and one final chance. The Titans touched the onside kick too soon and Seattle finished off the win.

New York Jets 10-23 Baltimore Ravens Derrick Henry scored two third-quarter touchdowns, and the Baltimore Ravens recovered from a sleepy first half to beat the New York Jets for their fifth straight victory. Baltimore have gone from 1-5 to 6-5, but this was not a particularly convincing performance. Lamar Jackson went 13 of 23 for 153 yards and did not look as mobile as usual after dealing with knee and ankle issues recently. Henry was held to 64 yards on 21 carries. Tyrod Taylor started in place of the benched Justin Fields and threw for 222 yards with a touchdown and had a late interception for the Jets (2-9).

Jacksonville Jaguars 27–24 Arizona Cardinals (OT) Trevor Lawrence threw three touchdown passes, Cam Little kicked a 52-yard field goal in overtime and the Jacksonville Jaguars (7-4) overcame a turnover-filled performance to beat the Arizona Cardinals (3-8). Jacksonville got the ball first in overtime and after a promising drive stalled, Little made a 52-yarder with 7:46 left. He set an NFL record with a 68-yard field goal earlier this season. Arizona had a chance to tie or win, but Jacoby Brissett’s fourth-down heave to Xavier Weaver fell incomplete. The Cardinals elected to go for it instead of attempting a 60-yard field goal. Jacksonville have won three of their last four. Arizona has lost eight of nine.

Minnesota Vikings 6-23 Green Bay Packers Emanuel Wilson rushed for a career-high 107 yards and two touchdowns in his first career start and the Green Bay Packers (7-3-1) defeated the Minnesota Vikings (4-7). Green Bay’s Micah Parsons and Devonte Wyatt each had two sacks. The Vikings totaled four net yards and three turnovers in the second half. Wilson had two one-yard touchdown runs while filling in for the injured Josh Jacobs. His 28 carries and 107 yards rushing represented the highest single-game totals by any Packers running back this season.

Atlanta Falcons 24–10 New Orleans Saints Kirk Cousins passed for two touchdowns and the visiting Atlanta Falcons ended a five-game losing streak by defeating the New Orleans Saints. Cousins completed 16 of 23 passes for 199 yards for the Falcons (4-7) as he filled in for Michael Penix Jr, who suffered a season-ending knee injury last week. Tyler Shough passed for 243 of the 293 total yards for the Saints (2-9), who did not score an offensive touchdown.
