Forty years after Pac-Man had his very first taste of ghosts, an AI has given the ravenous puck a brand-new labyrinth to chew his method through– without studying the video game code.
That implies it recreated the game without first being taught the rules. Rather, the AI simulates a computer game engine to develop a new variation of the arcade classic.
Researchers at GPU huge Nvidia recreated the video game by feeding a model they call GameGAN 50,000 Pac— Man episodes. After digesting the sample, it spat out a fully-functioning new variation of the video game.
The system uses generative adversarial networks (GANs), which Facebook Chief AI Researcher Yann LeCun called ” the most fascinating concept in the last 10 years in ML.”
