Open for lunch: California counties with few coronavirus cases re-start their economies

YUBA CITY, Calif. (Reuters) – California state limitations banning dining establishments from providing sit-down meals have not yet been lifted, however you wouldn’t understand that in downtown Yuba City, where households queued cheerfully for tables at the Pleased Viking Sports Pub and Restaurant.

The dining establishment opened its doors to the public for the first time in 50 days on Monday, after county officials ruled that dining establishments, stores and gym could open if patrons and personnel followed social distancing guidelines – although constraints technically remain in location for the entire state.

” We were tired of being in quarantine,” stated Tyler Niesen, who had lunch at the Pleased Viking with his better half Sidney, four-year-old child and two month old child. “We really got to see people – family and friends.”

The household, who were not wearing masks, purchased hamburgers and welcomed friends at the bustling dining establishment. The couple said they were not fretted about contracting the virus while out and about.
