A student has allegedly been stabbed at a school in regional New South Wales.
NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to Canobolas Rural Technology High School in Orange about 1pm on Monday.

7NEWS understands a 16-year-old girl was allegedly stabbed with a kitchen knife inside the school’s food technology classrooms and suffered arm and chest injuries.
She was treated by paramedics at the scene and taken to Orange Health Service in a stable condition.
NSW Police said a 15-year-old girl was also arrested at the scene and taken to Orange Police Station.
A spokesperson for the NSW Department of Education told 7NEWS.com.au that staff immediately provided first aid following an alleged altercation between two students.
“The school was placed into lockdown for a short period of time as a safety precaution,” they said.
The student was taken to Orange Health Service in a stable condition. Credit: 7NEWSSuperintendent Brendan Gorman told reporters on Monday that police believe the stabbing was an “isolated incident”.
“At this stage, the inquiries are continuing, police are gathering evidence and statements from staff and other students at the school that may be forthcoming in the future,” he said.
“It’s very concerning for police, and we encourage people to talk to their children about safety.”
“Knives are not something that they need to be carrying around at any time, they are dangerous weapons.”
Police established a crime scene, with an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident underway.
It comes just two years after a student at the high school was sent to Orange Hospital with stab wounds to his chest.
