Changes to Queensland’s drug treatment procedures will permit pharmacists to provide more services such as recommending more emergency medications throughout the coronavirus pandemic, Health Minister Steven Miles has revealed.
Under the modifications, Mr Miles said pharmacists would be provided additional provisions for dispensing emergency situation medications in addition to having a larger variety to substitute medications.
” So if people can’t get to their prescriber, they will be able to access emergency situation medications,” Mr Miles stated.
Pharmacists would also be permitted to provide a COVID-19 vaccine when it was ultimately offered.
