He was taken to healthcare facility on Sunday – 10 days after evaluating favorable – and was moved to intensive care on Monday.
Mr Johnson received “standard oxygen treatment” in extensive care and was not put on a ventilator, Downing Street said previously.
United States President Donald Trump tweeted that Mr Johnson’s relocation out of intensive care was “great news”.
And Health Secretary Matt Hancock included: “So excellent that the prime minister is out of extensive care and on the roadway to recovery. The NHS is there for us all and I know our remarkable NHS staff have provided him their particular world-class care.”
Freshly chosen Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer also welcomed the “excellent news”, tweeting: “I hope it is the starts of a speedy recovery.”
