Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has assured that the government will leave no stone unturned to find out what led to the deaths of 8 babies at the Port of Spain General Hospital.
Seven of those babies died between April 4th and April 7th as a result of neonatal sepsis, while the 8th baby died on March 16th.
Speaking at the Official Opening of the new Sangre Grande Hospital Campus a short while ago, Dr Rowley said he was “particularly sad” because of the situation.
He said for some people, it might be an opportunity to lay blame but before that can be done, he simply wants to know what happened at the Port of Spain General Hospital.
He called on the population to await the outcome of the independent investigation which is being conducted by the Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO).
