In a major relief for the state’s Rs 7,000 crore coaching industry, the Rajasthan Coaching Centres (Control and Regulation) Bill, 2025 has diluted several provisions of the Centre’s guidelines. The revised bill comes amid rising suicides among coaching center students in the state. As per reports, seven students have died by suicide this year alone. In 2024, 17 students died by suicide, compared to 23 the previous year.

Coaching establishments offering intensive exam preparation for IIT-JEE and NEET had opposed the Union government’s January 2024 guidelines, particularly the age limit, which they claimed caused a 30-40% decline in student registrations and significant financial losses last year.
