Federal Education Minister Dan Tehan will today provide a higher education relief bundle for the tertiary education sector which is “unashamedly” focused on domestic students.

  • There will be 20,000 positions readily available in short-term nursing, mentor, health, IT and science courses
  • Universities will maintain the $18 billion budgeted this year regardless of any fall in enrolments
  • Lobby group Universities Australia had desired federal governments to offer hardship payments to worldwide students, however this was rejected
