A bumbling boot thief needs to rethink his crime career after stealing 53 right shoes from a Brisbane store. Tamara Shorrock owner of Shoe Fashions Kenmore confirmed 51 of the 53 missing boots have now been returned a week after the theft sparked headlines and confusion across the country.
“This is just amazing” she told 7NEWS.
“They’re all in new condition. Not tampered with.”
The thief had unknowingly stolen only right foot boots, not realising the display table was stocked with one side only.
The matching lefts were safely stored out the back, leaving Shorrock unable to sell the remaining left shoes and facing a major financial hit.
The boots had a combined sale value of $7000.

“They’ve been returned,” she added with a laugh. “Best right footed reunion ever.”
“Thanks to all the detectives out there.”
The whereabouts of the two missing boots remain unknown.
Queensland Police have not laid any charges.
For now, Shorrock said she is simply relieved to have most of her stock back, with the rights finally ready to be reunited with their “sole mates”.
