Taking to the battlefield?
We’re at another weekend, folks! It’s been a busy week, with Microsoft delivering another Xbox Game Pass roundup a few days ago. We may still be waiting on August’s biggest Xbox and Game Pass drops, but there’s still plenty to be going at on the platform this weekend.
Here’s what we’re playing over the next few days:

Battlefield, Battlefield, Battlefield – if you can’t tell yet, I’m going to be playing the Battlefield 6 beta pretty much all weekend on Xbox. It’s been a good while now since I’ve been this excited about a new entry in EA’s famous FPS franchise, and I’m going to be getting plenty of hands-on with it ASAP.
If I get chance to play anything else — and that’s a big if — it’ll probably be some more Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown again. I’m at that point now where I’m trying to discover the last few roads I’ve missed, while netting those big discovery XP bonuses that come along with it – one last push and I’ll have seen everything Hong Kong Island has to offer.

Battlefield isn’t really my thing, so I think I might dip back into Mafia: Definitive Edition this weekend ahead of hopefully picking up Mafia: The Old Country in the near future. Like much of my backlog, I played the Defintive Edition for a couple of hours and then bounced off it, so it’s time to properly devote my attention to the 2020 remake!
Beyond that, I’m tempted to either check out Assassin’s Creed Mirage on Xbox Game Pass or pick up Assassin’s Creed Syndicate for a low price in the Xbox sales. Yes, Mirage probably makes more sense, but there’s something about Syndicate that’s always appealed to me, and it might be time to finally give it a try on Xbox Series X.
