This year Apple made Night Mode available for the selfie and ultrawide electronic cameras on the new iPhone 12 series – up previously it was just readily available for the primary camera.
But Apple also revealed a new longer 2.5 x telephoto electronic camera on the iPhone 12 Pro Max, which many anticipated would be able to shoot Night Mode shots, regardless of Apple’s intentional silence on the matter. Well, it does not.
Just like the iPhone 11 Pro series and the iPhone 12 Pro, the iPhone 12 Pro Max chooses to digitally zoom to 2.5 x from its primary camera, than use its true 2.5 x imager in the dark.
