New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) announced Monday night that he would direct state health insurers to waive fees associated with coronavirus screening in the state amidst worries of an outbreak in the U.S.
In a series of tweets, Cuomo wrote that cost must not be a barrier for New Yorkers getting screenings for the unique form of coronavirus behind an outbreak that started in China and has because killed more than 3,000 individuals worldwide, contaminating 10s of thousands more.
