Upon arrival, they found the woman could not be revived and was declared dead at the scene.
“Chloe was a beautiful 23-year-old who was loved by many. She was a daughter, a sister, an aunt and a friend,” Mason’s sister Danni Mason said in a statement to The Courier Mail.
“This loss has devastated our family and we struggle to come to terms with this so close to the holidays.
“As sisters we grieve for the things she won’t experience, all the things we aren’t able to share and the memories we won’t make. She was an incredible woman.”
Another sister, Hannah McKone, said: “I grieve for the life she ever got to have and the experiences we won’t share.”
“This is really hard to come to terms with so close to Christmas. She has gifts wrapped under the tree she’ll never get to unwrap,” she said.

“I’m fundraising on behalf of my little sister Chloe,” the GoFundMe said.
“Being so close to Christmas, her family has no savings or financial means to give her a funeral.
“We are graciously asking for help and support in this. All funds donated will be directly utilised for Chloe’s funeral service.”
Friends and family of Mason have also paid tribute on social media.
“She was only 23 and stunning. My daughter went to school with her and played rugby league with her at Beachmere when they were younger. So sad,” one social post said.
Another commenter said: “RIP Beautiful woman I am thankful to have been friends with you in high school. You will be dearly missed”.
“My big sister I am actually lost for words. Rest in Peace … I’m in shock,” another post said.

The Courier Mail reported that a neighbour heard someone shouting “f****** c***” around the time of the alleged shooting.
A number of witnesses are currently assisting police with no clear suspects on police radar.
