Trump held off Uighur sanctions for China deal

Mr Trump told the Axios news site that achieving a “terrific” deal implied he might not enforce “extra sanctions”.

Mr Bolton had declared that at a top last year Mr Trump offered Chinese President Xi Jinping the green light on building the camps in its western region, with the US leader stating it was “precisely the best thing to do”.

Axios states that when Mr Trump was asked why he had held off enforcing more sanctions on Communist Party officials over the concern of the camps, he stated: “Well, we were in the middle of a major trade offer.
