WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Donald Trump, dealing with criticism that his policies and inflammatory rhetoric have intensified a racial divide in the United States, signed an order on Tuesday aimed at enhancing police practices and said that “Americans want order.”

After weeks of demonstrations versus racism and policy cruelty triggered by the death of George Floyd, a black man eliminated on May 25 in authorities custody in Minneapolis, Trump offered a policy response to rising concerns about racial oppression entering into the Nov. 3 election in which he is seeking a 2nd term.
