US President Donald Trump will take action “in the coming days” against Chinese-owned software application that he believes posture a nationwide security threat, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said.
Mr Pompeo said popular video app TikTok was among those “feeding information directly to the Chinese Communist Party”.
His comments came days after Mr Trump stated he was banning TikTok in the United States.
The company has denied accusations that it is controlled by or shares information with the Chinese federal government.
Speaking to Fox News Channel, Mr Pompeo said the action would be taken “with regard to a broad range of national security dangers that are presented by software application linked to the Chinese Communist Celebration.”
