Two females had been arrested over the death of an eight-month-dilapidated little one following a “clinical episode” at a nursery.
Police had been called to an incident at a nursery in Stockport, Greater Manchester, on Monday.
The girl became once taken to health center where she later died.
The 2 females, aged 35 and 34, had been held on suspicion of putrid negligence manslaughter, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said.
The force described the death as “heartbreaking”.
Det Supt Phil Duffy said: “Our thoughts are very great with the little one girl’s household who’re understandably terrified and devastated.
“We’re doing all the pieces we can to win them the answers they deserve.
“Officers are persevering with to work to attach the elephantine details and ascertain the conditions.”
A spokesman for Ofsted said the nursery had been mercurial closed and declined to comment extra.
